I have a FANTASTIC rec from my english teacher I had for both freshmen and junior year. I went from getting Bs in her class freshmen year to all As junior year and an A on my IB internal assessment. She is like my best friend and she went to Brown, UVA, and UMichgan.

I went through a lot my junior year. Including finding out about an affair my dad had with many many people, which was an issue even after we found out. he got caught 3 more times after. Also, i almost moved midyear, which caused stress and some how we got called by the Department of child services saying i was getting beaten and I wasn't... It was strange, but more stress. Threat that my brother had cancer. more stress...

FANTASTIC rec from my guidance counselor! I love her!! lol.

i’m a give you a second chance swimme

Looks like you keep busy- make sure you write the optional (not really) essay in the supplement giving further insight to one of your activites (since you have so many!) I would also consider retaking your ACT (most applicants will have 33+) or giving the SAT a shot. Although test scores aren’t everything, a lot of kids who apply and get in have very high test scores. Luckily your year is the first that College Board will allow to select specific tests to be sent to colleges rather than having all scores sent to them. This way, they won’t know how many times you took the test to get a higher score. Another important thing to keep in mind when applying is that Harvard requires that all applicants submit 3 SAT II subject test scores to even be considered for admission. Best of luck

as of now, you aren’t even in consideration in Harvard’s eyes. They want a humanities SATII too (hint hint)

Your GPA is fine, your rank isn’t that good though. Unless you go to a top-in-state school. You have tons of ECs, and some wins in smaller contests. Unless I read wrong though, you never made AIME, so Harvard will know you aren’t tops in math.

I’d say you have a chance, and that you are a decent applicant. On the down side, though, you don’t have anything stellar to really boost your chances like intel, USA_O, etc.

Retake the ACT, try for a 33+ as advised above, or take the SAT I. Remember you need three SAT IIs for Harvard.

If you get your test scores up, you are in the running, as your GPA is fine, and ECs show you’re a busy guy…good luck!

hhaah I loved it when you said ur french teacher is biased  make sure that tone isn’t in ur essays though, since that tone equals rejections, I promise u in any college…but you look good.

i thought intel was only for seniors
