Chancellor Scholarship

Has anyone been notified if they are being considered for the Vanderbilt Chancellor's Scholarship?

If you submitted an application for the Chancellor Scholarship, Vanderbilt will let you know mid-March.

I applied regular decision and won’t find out if I got in until April, but I also applied for those scholarships–would I still be considered?

i applied regular decision as well, so thanks for the info. I was an Ingram semi, but did not progress, but was told I would be considered for the Chancellor. I thought maybe those winners had already been notified too. My expectations are low, but a good scholarship would be the only way I could attend Vandy, so my fingers and crossed.

Congrats on the Ingram 2010emily, that means you are virtually guaranteed admission to the University =]

Yeah Chancellor you find out mid-march, as others have said.

Thanks HYPhoper! I didn’t win it though, just made it to semi-finalist round. I love Vandy though! My fingers are crossed. :)

Do you have to send in a separate form for all the scholarships?

My son is a freshman at Vandy and is a Chancellor’s Scholar. He was notified in late Feb. last year so it seems that they notify people at different times.

For what it’s worth, he absolutely loves it there and turned down admissions offers from Stanford and Duke to attend, of course neither offered him a dime :)

MOMofknowitall, do they do email notification or regular mail for the scholarships?

I believe they were emailed (at least at first) last year

any of the chancellor winners
could you supply me with a brief synopsis of your resume?

Got it! Anyone else here get it too?

Yes … Got the email from the Dean that I have been selected to receive the scholarship … it also says something about the stipend … is the stipend to cover personal expenses like room & board ?

Typically, the stipend is for study abroad or expenses associated with summer research.

WWHS2011, congrats on your Chancellor’s Scholar admission. You will find a page at vanderbilt.edu that is about how Chancellor’s Scholars have used their stipends in past years…endless permutations and ways to use it for school or for travel studies or for a service project. There will be gatherings where you can meet upperclassmen who are also Chancellors Scholars where you can talk these things over.
