I got a flyer saying to save the date for a chancellor's reception. What is this? Does this mean I'm admitted?

Congratulations Billybee! In past years, people who attend the Chancellor’s Reception are told that they have been admitted during the President’s speech. If you are able to attend, it is very nice. They make you feel very special. They also have posters and buttons. They offer breakout sessions regarding housing, major programs, and such.

Is this something that you received in the mail?

I got an email stating that a snail male invitation is on the way.

Billybeejr, would you mind telling me your stats? I am trying to determine if I might get an invitation too.

Billybeejr, what part of the country are you from? just curious if UCSB are sending emails based on the date you are likely to attend.

I’m from buffalo, NY.

3.8 UC GPA/ 2150 SAT

Thanks for the info Billybeejr! That could mean that LA and Seattle areas will hear this weekend. Good luck everyone!

i got something of that nature in the mail today
(ny)

after signing up it says “Your invitation to this event does not reflect your admission status to UCSB.”

suuper confusing :|

I got it also!
Minnymom is right. Apparently they tell you that you’ve been accepted right when the presentation starts. Since the UC system can’t release official acceptances until mid-march, I guess they have this reception to keep their best applicants interested in the school.

^ Where does it say the UC system can’t release official acceptances until mid-march? UCI and UCR have already admitted a good amount of students at the beginning of February. Anyways, congrats to you and all the others who have received an invitation to this event.

Just received invitation via snail mail today!

Im in Los Angeles btw, 4.15W 3.75 UW UC GPA and 31 ACT

I got this too, but I don’t know whether I should go… Anyone going to the one in LA?

I’m going to the one in LA

Son got invitation today. He’s an Engineering major. Any correlation between this invitation and Regents Scholarship?

I’m going to the LA one! 4.1 UC gpa, 2160 sat. Does this mean we’re in the honors program??

I got one today as well! Bay Area, CA. 3.8 UW GPA, 4.1 W GPA, 33 ACT, 2100 SAT

What if we can’t go??

I also received one.
