This is kinda off topic from everyone’s worries about acceptance, mostly because I trust that the letter is a reliable source of acceptance. On a simpler note, how well should we dress? Do we need to impress any future acquaintances?

I’ve been wondering that too CAbrownie
is it like business casual? formal? semi formal?

Got mine a week ago
3.9 UC GPA, 30 ACT (35 English, 36 Comb Eng/Writing)
See you in LA

Sent from my HTCAmaze4G using CC

Great so I’ll go with a casual sweater and nice jeans :)

For those who didn’t get a notification in the mail, don’t be all too worried. I was getting anxious because I hadn’t received one, but then got an email asking to confirm my reservation. I guess UCSB got my mailing address wrong.

I’ll be attending the one in L.A. Can’t wait to meet all of you! :)

Yeah I never got one, but a number of people at my school did. I have at least the same GPA as them and a 2340/800/760 on my SAT and SAT II, so I don’t think it means your numbers are bad if you didn’t get invited. I wouldn’t get too worked up over it.

I received a letter for the Chancellor’s reception as well but my stats are horrendous! haha so I don’t know if it is any indication that we’ve been admitted. I got a 1480 on my SAT cause I despise math.

I got an email as well. I heard that the engineering program is one of the best and most underrated, despite rumors of a more party-friendly atmosphere. If it’s true about the quality of its engineering program, as well as the reports about how beautiful the campus is, I’d loved to go. I’ve gotten admissions from UCI and UCR so far but I don’t really have the intention of going there.

Anyway, you’ll be able to pick me out in the crowd by how socially-awkward I am.

got one too! chicagoland area, 3.7 GPA and 27 ACT 1840 SAT. so surprising

Is there a scholarship with this? And admission to the chancellors scholar association?

No money, honey. This was a great invite in the days before you heard about whether you were admitted to UCSB because it meant you were in.
