Hey everyone. While reading through some threads I noticed that many Chancellor’s discussions were taking place, so I figured it’d be convenient to have them all here.
My first question: Has anyone heard back about whether or not they will be getting an interview? My status changed to “Being reviewed” last week.
My daughter’s status says “Awaiting letters and transcripts”. She had it all sent in well before her deadline. In the FAQ section it says to not worry about that. But since other’s status says “being reviewed” should she call and check?
OK - just looked at the FAQ again and they said it could take eight weeks to scan and upload and that they will contact us for further information. So - we will sit tight.
I can’t give you an exact time on the contact for interviews, because I am not involved in that process. But I would wager a guess that it would be in early-mid February. The Scholarship Committee is working hard to review everyone’s materials and move the process forward.
@ancientmal, on Jan 18. you said:
“I was accepted December 4th and my scholarship letter was postmarked December 22nd. My honors college acceptance came somewhere in between. There were issues on the Chancellor’s scholarship application though so I still haven’t applied for that.”.
So then you eventually applied? And you have heard already? My that was a fast turnaround. Do you mind if I ask your stats?
My daughter got the email yesterday on her regular personal email at 7:45 pm. The email came directly from a woman but I won’t write her name. She applied to Pitt on September 4, was accepted in October with an invite to take honors classes. The letter said she was being considered for a scholarship. In November she received full tuition with the Chancellors invite. She applied for Chancellors probably around Thanksgiving and heard back yesterday. Yesterday she emailed the lady to set up an appointment but the email was " undeliverable" so today she will call the phone number that was also provided.
I also got selected for an interview and I have already arranged for my appointment. The cscholar@pitt.edu doesn’t work, but if you reply back directly to ksb@pitt.edu, she’ll set it up for you.
I got the “Thanks, but no thanks” letter. 35 ACT, 800/760 subject tests, strong ec’s and leadership in 3 clubs. Seems ridiculously competitive this year. Good luck to everyone interviewing!
@gschally, I was wondering about that also. With a letter date of Dec 22 the Chancellor application would have been due Jan 12. But even then that is fast.
We got a letter yesterday. Did not get selected for interview.
@Localdreamer15, sorry you didn’t get selected. Are you from PA?
@Localdreamer, yes we’re from PA. I was just wondering because so far the interview candidates seem to be all OOS.
My daughter got the full tuition scholarship. Did you apply to the Stamps scholarship also?
@mommdc No, I didn’t have time to. I’m curious how they differentiate between 10k and full tuition. Two of my classmates also applied for Chancellor’s, but only got 10k as well.
