This thread is for those you got the 2010 U pitt Chancellor's scholarship!

Have decisions been released/is your son a scholar?

This is in anticipation and also to see when these announcements will be made!!!

My son had been checking emails and we found a UPS Express envelope from Pitt on the porch today–had probably been sitting there since Friday (4/16)–we were out of town on an admitted student visit at another college. Anyway. HE GOT IT!! They want him to respond quickly (by 4/23) so I imagine if students reject the scholarship others will be awarded the chance asap.
Good luck to those of you still waiting. We live in PA, probably got notice soonest.

Congrats! Good luck to your son with his decision!

The son, tis I : ). HI MOM! No email, though, so I think they are doing it all snail.

I received mine on Friday. It’s a big honor and leaves me with a very tough decision. They asked me to respond by the 23rd, so I’ll need to decide quickly… Oh, and I also live in PA. Best of luck to everyone!

Hey guys, I guess I’m the first out-of-stater on this thread, but I’m sending this message from North Carolina and I got my letter on Friday! I’ll be seeing you guys at Pitt in the Fall! Actually, I’ll see you on the retreat :D

Congrats to all of you!

Second out of state-- I’m from South Carolina. Getting the Chancellor’s made the decision pretty easy since Pitt has been my first choice for a while, so I’m definitely headed there now! I’ll see you guys at the retreat!! Congrats everyone- can’t wait to meet you!

I’ve decided after a lot of deliberation (I asked for an extra weekend) to turn down the scholarship. It essentially came down to the fact that I feel like a better fit at the schools I’m deciding between now and that their aid offers are good enough that they are easily affordable as well. This was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made and all the people I’ve interacted with at the Honors College have been wonderful throughout this process.

My D did not get the Pitt Chancellor’s so has decided to go to OSU. Congrats to all of you who have got the Chanceor’s and are going to Pitt!

I’m in a similar situation to wombatsoup; I also received it, but I feel much more comfortable at another affordable school

My heart wants to go there, but this will definitely be the hardest decision ever, and I’ll have doubts + regrets about whatever I choose

I got notified about the Chancellor’s scholarship a week or so ago, and that pretty much solidified my decision to go to Pitt over Chicago and Carnegie Mellon. I can’t wait to meet everyone on the retreat! :D

Hi Momofasenior, My d is also going to OSU. PITT gave her $12,000. OOS is too much without full tuition. She got 4 yr full ride at OSU. Hope they like Columbus!!

NEOhio What is your daughter’s major?

Sorry- I kept forgetting to ask her. It’s Biochemistry.-then pharmacy. Glad the decision part is over!
