Thanks! I will Chance back!

bump please?

You’ll need to bring the ACT up to at least 33+, and try to get a 4/5 in AP English this year to make up for the 3. I’m not sure if siblings count as legacies, though. The schools look like mid-reaches for now. The rest of your file looks good; are you applying for music or engineering?

At smorgasbord: Thanks for the feedback I am actually going to do Natural Sciences (Biology/Pre-Dental)

bump anybody please?

UChicago: Reach

Rice: Low Reach/High Match
Georgetown: Low Reach/High Match
Duke: Reach

I think that improving your ACT score and writing great essays will definitely improve your application tremendously. You have a great GPA and a rigorous course load!

Best of luck on your application!

Chance me back? : )

Cornell: High Math/Low Reach
Rice: High Match/Low Reach
UChicago: Low Reach (Try Early Action!)
Georgetown: Match to High Match (Since sibling attend school there)
Duke: Reach

You seem like an extremely hardworking student. If its possible to take the ACT again go for it and aim for a 32 or more! But other than that your course work is rigorous, gpa and ranking are excellent, and ec’s seem pretty solid too me!

Good Luck on your college ventures!

chance me please??

UChicago: Reach
Cornell: Reach
Rice: Low Reach
Georgetown: Low Reach
Duke: Reach

You’re a first gen student, which helps a lot. I know that cornell focuses a **** ton on grades/class rank, so you’ve set yourself up pretty well there. I think all of the schools, maybe with the exception of rice, are in the reach category, but in applying to all of them, you have a great chance of getting into one. Your ecsare pretty good, do you have any leadership positions? DEFINITELY try and bring up the ACT, thats not going to sit too well against other students at those top schools. Good luck! DOn’t worry though, you have as good a chance as many.

Georgetown - low reach/high match (you’re legacy might give you a small boost, though)
Rice - low reach
Cornell - reach (as it is for most)
U of C - reach
Duke - reach

Your grades/class rank are great, and you’re taking challenging courses. You’re ECs are pretty good, too. I’d say the only thing holding you back is your ACT score. Don’t get me wrong - a 29 is by no means bad. It’s a great score. But for some of the schools you’re applying to, it’s at the lower end of the middle 50% of accepted students.

However, I’m sure you’ll get into a few of the schools on your list. Good luck!

Would you mind chancing me back? Thanks!

thanks guys! bump? Do i need more volunteer hours?

I don’t think that it’s necessary the amount of volunteer hours, but the quality, so I think you’re okay on those, but not amazing. Really emphasize your piano playing skills in your application, they love to see talent at colleges. Your course load seems pretty difficult, but your grades don’t match your scores. U Chicago doesn’t really care that much about SATs so you probably have a small chance there. If you improve your SATs slightly, Georgetown is a shoe-in. Without higher test scores, Cornell is not gonna happen. Best of Luck!

i don’t know how to make a link for my chance thing, how do you do it?

Thanks anonymous… to copy and paste your thread just copy and paste the link of your thread to the post and it automatically shows the title of it… Should I send in a tape or something of me playing the piano?
