Chances @ a transfer to NYU/URochester

Hey guys, I just wanted your opinion. My goal is to study compsci CAS at NYU. I currently am a freshmen Carnegie Mellon. Got in to Carnegie for a different program, but took one cs class and I love it. It's all i think about now. Can't pursue it here since the program is too selective.

Originally got into NYU as a presidential scholar (top 5% of admit class to CAS), but I had to turn it down due to a financial aid complication that would be fixed with reapplication.

H.S. Stats:
95 GPA/100
13 A.P.'s and 2 college classes
SAT: 2170 (800 M, 680 CR, 690 W)
Subject: Math 2: 780, Math 1: 720 U.S. History: 750
President of 6 clubs in high school
won numerous debate competition
Work experience

College:

3.2 GPA first semester (2 A's, 2 B's, 1 C) (C was in my old uniteresting major)
mid second semester can range from 3.0 to 3.5 (might get get one C)
In 3 clubs, can write down an officer position for debate
Part of a robot design team as a programmer
worked over winter break as a website consultant

What are my chances at NYU? U Rochester? I'm nervous because of my low college gpa?

CMU has one of the best CS program in country. Why transfer? 3.2 from CMU is respectful GPA. I would suggest that you stay.

There are too reasons I wouldn’t stay here

 1. CS is too selective here. I talked to my advisor and he told me I had a slim to none shot as an internal transfer because they only allow like 5 kids to do it a year and they usually have much more coding experience.

2) I’m not a fan of the school environment.

Can i get a chance at NYU and U Rochester?

Your college GPA is probably a bit low for NYU. It’s good that you had great high school stats and got accepted the first time around, and they will still matter. If you right good essays you may have a chance.

bump…anyone else can help?
