chances, accepted to syracuse, waitlisted at northeastern?

<p>Hi, I'm a senior awaiting college decisions, but as they are trickling in I'm becoming more and more nervous. I got accepted to SU (with the highest scholarship they offer), but waitlisted at NU, although my research tells me SU is a better school..
I go to a very competitive magnet school in NJ, ranked in top 50 in the us, 2nd in the state.
GPA 3.75W, 3.6UW
ACT- 31 writing 10
7 AP's (4 this year) AP art history AP US history AP biology AP lang AP lit AP spanish lang AP psych. The rest of the classes i have taken are honors level (except gym and health)
ec's:
varsity swimming 4 yrs, team captain this year, 1st team all county freshman-senior year
school band for 3 years, newspaper, key club (2, had to quit for swimming), yearbook this year (it's a senior only club), senior fundraising committee
work experience:
over the summer i lifeguarded and taught children to swim. I helped out the editor of a local magazine in summer of 08, also went to a writer's seminar for 3 weeks at simon's rock
volunteer: i worked at a hospital for the majority of my hours, and also worked at an animal shelter here and there. now i volunteer at my school library.
i'm a white female.
the only two schools i'm concerned with right now are bu and bc. i also applied to upenn. i know that's a farrr reach though.</p>

<p>come on please? i’ll chance back :D</p>

<p>bummmmpppp :(</p>

<p>i’m shocked you got waitlisted at northeastern. you should definitely get into bu and bc. upenn is quite a reach, but i guess … you never really know, haha</p>

<p>BU you have a great chance at, it’s definitely a match if not a safety. BC will be tough but I think you’re competitive for it. You’ll find out soon, good luck!</p>

<p>I agree. You should have definitely been accepted into Northeastern. Syracuse, Northeastern, and BU are all matches. You should be accepted into Boston University. BC and UPENN are reaches, but you never know!</p>

<p>did you apply to Northeastern undecided? or RD? </p>

<p>possible waitlist reasons…Northeastern prefers a declared major; if you apply undecided you are compared to all students who apply undecided rather than in your particular major of choice. and they accept many EA…</p>

<p>thanks guys… i got waitlisted at bc, which i’m not too disappointed with. it’s not a rejection!</p>

<p>So I just read your post and I am pretty sure that we are the same person
Both go to magnet schools
Same GPA
Both take advanced classes
Both were on Varsity swim team + both captains
life guarding
Both females
I applied to BU, Northeastern, and Syracuse</p>

<p>I got denied from BU, accepted to Northeastern, and waitlisted at Syracuse. I don’t know if this will help you any but I just had to reply to you thread. Good luck!</p>
