I’m really interested in applying to Trinity in the fall, but I’m worried about paying for school. I want to double major in Computer Science and Writing, Rhetoric, and Media.

Hook:
I’m a blogger with over hundreds of thousands of followers. The blog has been on Teen Vogue’s list of Top 100 Fashion Bloggers from around the globe. The blog is not only a creative outlet, but also a portfolio of sorts, since I want to be working as some sort of digital creative director/editor at some fashion or lifestyle related publication in the future. My website is partially self-coded, and all content is independently written and created.

Based on my profile, how much of a shot do I have for getting in, as well as receiving very generous scholarship/financial aid? In addition, what is the likelihood of a full scholarship? I still have a younger sister who isn’t as academically inclined to consider, so I really want to put no financial burden on my parents. I am more than willing to work while in college if possible. I will also be applying to Trinity through the Questbridge program, but it is so competitive, I can’t get my hopes up about getting in.

Ooh sorry but you need at least 2 million followers to get into a school like Trinity. Your stats are really strong and you should be in good shape. If you haven’t already start looking at Common Data Sets so you can compare yourself academically to students who enroll in previous years. I’m not sure about a true full ride unless you do questbridge but from what I’ve heard Trinity gives really good aid so it should be very generous at your income. Trinity does meet full need but do keep in mind they are not need blind and have a limited budget so they only accept a certain number of low income students. With your stats you’d have a good chance at LACs that are need blind as well so you might want to consider some. Im not trying to discourage you from need aware schools but I have a 0 EFC and so far only need blind schools have accepted me. I’m hoping to get into Trinity today but not counting on it. Finally I don’t think being Asian will help much but it definitely doesn’t hurt at most LACs and many times the population is underrepresented compared to percent of general population. You shouldn’t really need any help though. If you keep it up and show interest in the school you should be all set.
