Chances, Advice and Recommendations for me?

Hey guys,

lets make the introduction short,

About me:
11th Grade, 16 years, International School in Germany, doing the bilingual IB diploma, writing the Extended Essay in Physics
My current courses are:
Math, Physics and Economics - Higher Level
German A1, English A2 and Chemistry - Standard Level

Hobbies/Activities:
piano (6 years), KungFu (1 year 2-3 times a weak, 4 years before), Yearbook designer/photo editor, programmed a browser game in 8th grade hade ~100 players, studying chinese outside of school for 10 years (I'm still pretty bad, lack of motivation...), repairing electronic devices, participate in a play inside of school, tutoring some classmates and helping 8th graders in english, onlineradio moderator (1.5 years), playing soccer on saturdays, drawing and webdesign, Model United Nations
But I don't have any social activities, like helping out in the local kindergarten or something. Is this a problem? I mean is this a real "deal-breaker"?

Now we come to my first problem: my grades from 7 up to 11th grade were... average. They had a rising tendency, but still average. When I decided to give my dream studying at MIT to give a try, my scores become good. Currently I'm top of my course in Physics, Economics, German and English. I got a average from 94/100 last term, even though my scores were still considerably weak in the beginning. Is it a problem that my scores didn't use to be good?

My second problem is the SAT/ACT and TOEFEL one. I really su... messed up my psat. I don't really know why. I had even the right answer written on my booklet sometimes and circled the wrong one. Maybe just a bad day, but seriously? 49,66(CR,M)?! The university counsellor said I should take the ACT as the english part would be much easier for me, as english is my second language. And I should take the SAT II in math and physics and maybe the TOEFEL if I want to. What do you guys think? Is the ACT english really easier?

So can what do you think? Got any chance? Anyone has some more ideas to help me?

Hey, I’m also an international student (taking very similar subjects at IB: math, physics, econ HL, English A1, French B and chem SL). I got a rubbish PSAT score sophomore and junior year (sophomore: 49CR, 69M, junior: 57CR, 68M). However, I’ve been able to bring my SAT up to a 2240 (720CR, 760M, 760W) so don’t lose hope. Just work hard.

The ACT might also be worth a try. I took it quite a while ago and actually found that I did worse on the Reading section. The ACT doesn’t work for everyone but it’s worth a try.

^ Er, not really.
