There are currently 8 schools of interest for me. Here they are, listed in order by my desire to attend them:

-Claremont McKenna College
-Swarthmore College
-Pitzer College

-Colorado College

-Occidental College
-St. John's College

-New College of Florida

-Lawrence University

I have broken these up into 3 sections. The top section, I feel are reaches. The middle, I feel, are matches. And the bottom, I feel, is a safety (I'm a legacy there.)

Now on to my statistics:

Caucasian, Male.
-GPA: 3.85 with numerous AP classes (Current semester GPA is a 4.5)
Top 10% of my class

SAT- 1890 (first try)
CR- 550
Math- 670
Writing- 670
Essay- 11/12

ACT- 28 (first try)
English- 33
Math- 27
Reading- 24
Science- 26
Essay- 11/12

***These are the top scores in my class at my high school. Our high school never sends kids to top schools, and I have the most promising resume at our school.

Sports- Soccer Player, Varsity Every Year (one of a small handful of kids who made varsity freshman year in the schools rich history.) I am currently Captain
Tennis- Varsity every year as well
Football (kicker)- Started varsity in 11th grade

So a total of 10 varsity letters by the end of high school.

Extracurricular Activities:
-Active member in Student Government Association
-Member of the Future Business Leaders of America- Won 1st place in economics at the regional convention, and am attending the state competition next week.
-Member of the National Honor's Society

Volunteering- I have earned about 70 hours of volunteering teaching tennis to youth.

Work Experience- Worked at a summer day camp for 2 years, about 30 hours a week. It was hectic but rewarding. This year, I am a tennis instructor during the week.

Accolades: -2 awards for soccer, one of them MVP
- 2013 Chemistry Student of The Month
- 1st place in regional Economics competition
- AP Scholar (if I do well on the tests this year, which I will.)
- This is my X factor I believe. I am the winner of a national competition by the Council of Economic Education. I won hundreds of dollars for my economics teacher and received letters of recognition from both Maryland senators and our governor. I was partnered up with 3 unintelligent kids and I did the whole assignment myself. I was then invited to speak at a board of education meeting about the premise of my argument in the competition (reformation of public education.)

So, all in all, I do not have an Ivy Caliber resume, nor do I care. I really like these schools, and would apply to them no matter what my academic standing is. I will receive outstanding letters of recommendation (one from the aforementioned economics teacher and the other from the only teacher at our school with a PhD; she teaches Spanish and let me skip her classes and do independent studies because I was so far ahead.) I can write a great essay (11's on both my standardized test essays,) so I should be good there.

I plan to Apply ED I to either Pitzer or Colorado College, and ED II to either Swarthmore, Claremont McKenna, or Occidental. Any tips on how I should execute this? I don't want to waste an ED application. It's my dream to go to Claremont McKenna, but I am also trying to be realistic. Thank you all, Marshall.
