Hey CC community. Well, I’ve been lurking around CC for a little over a month now, and I think I’ve really learned a lot thanks to you guys. Anyhow, I would be really grateful if you could offer me some advice about my chances at top schools, namely MIT, U Chicago, U Penn M&T (Combines Wharton and Engineering), and U Penn Wharton.

Here’s some basic info:
State: TX
School Type: Public magnet with emphasis on math and science, typically sends ~10 to HYPSM (although mostly S and M)
Class Size: A little under 200
Ethnicity: Asian :( Boo.
Gender: Female :) Yay?
Income Bracket: Upper middle class
Hooks: None

I realize this doesn’t really tell you anything, but I don’t feel comfortable posting stuff in detail here. However, if you reply to this thread, I will PM you everything.

I am definitely applying to MIT and U Chicago via EA. However, I am not sure whether or not I should do ED for U Penn.

For MIT: people at my school generally fare well. This year, I believe 6 people were accepted. However, the caveat is that all of them were Siemens semifinalists (or even higher)…and I really don’t think I have a great shot at getting that with my research project.

For U Penn: I’m 100% sure about going into business, but I have NO business experience or business-related ECs.

So basically, my main questions are:
Without becoming a Siemens semifinalist, what are my chances of getting in MIT EA?
What are my chances of getting in Wharton RD without any business experience? Should I apply ED to increase my chances?
What are my chances at U Chicago? What do they look for?

Regardless, if you could offer any feedback at all, I would really appreciate it. Thanks <3
