P.S. I am a Dual Citizen... but I've lived here my entire life except for my 6 months... hope that doesn't hurt. Please let me know about this.

Stat wise, you should be fine. However, you do not really have any medical extracurriculars. The application contains a special section to list all medical related activities. What will you put on that section?

I ask this because I have applied and interview there myself (although I will not be attending because I got into another school which I believe has better opportunities, and frankly, UMKC is too expensive for oos students: approximately 50-60k in tuition per year, and since your oos you won’t get any scholarships).

I hope you are applying elsewhere too.

thanks! and i will for sure. i was just wondering where i stand as of now. i’m trying to get some biomedical research opportunities this summer. but i have a question actually. there are programs like Penn’s Summer Academies where you get to perform in laboratories and read journals and stuff… but that program, specifically, costs $7000. is it worth it to do that? i mean it sounds amazing, but the it’s expensive.

I’m not too informed on that program because I’m from the west coast. But I will say that it seems like a pretty good program just from your description, if your up to giving up the money. But I also think that doing a real, paid internship will be more valuable. It’s your shot though.

thanks for the advice. it’s greatly appreciated.
