Chances/Advice for VCU

I am wondering if you think I will be able to get into VCU...Here is some info:

SAT's:

-Critical Reading: 490
-Math: 530
-Writing: 480

I plan on re-taking my SATs in November, so hopefully they will be higher.

I am unsure of my current GPA, but it is somewhere around a 3.0. I was awarded with an academic star, and I have been on the football team from grades 9-12. I know a lot about computers, and I want to study something involving computers such as computer science, engineering or something of the sort.

I also made this post under the VCU forum, but it looks like not many people look there..

Celtik, go to your family physician and ask for a script for a blood test. If they find some, you're in. I taught there for 20 years, they take everybody.

VCU-Match (Probably they will give you cash also based on your background, not merit aid)

If they don't find blood, then what are his chances?

Hes in. Simply that easy. He in

Haha thanks for the replies..I heard that it was easy, however, I was under the impression the computer science program was kind of hard to get into..I am also going to apply so some other VA schools. I am not sure of which ones yet though.

Try applying to VTech. It is much reputation that VCU, and your chances are still very good. However, UVA, I am not so sure about your chances their. It is a crapshoot their.

Yes, I think I am going to apply to Virginia Tech..I doubt I will apply to U.V.A., but I might.

VTech is an awesome state school. Definitely apply their.

Yup..I hope I am able to get into there. Thanks for the help. I am also thinking about JMU, and maybe CNU..I am not sure.

You would get into both of those schools as well. Easily. Try Vtech, may be a bit of a challenge perhaps to get into.

Notthatgood4,

If they don't find blood, then his chances decrease slightly; he would be only a match.

I hope you're right..I would love to get into the Computer Science program..I am also trying to progress this year.

I see.........

Well, I was denied from CNU, however, I got into VCU so I am fine. I didn't plan on going to CNU that much anyways. I also am waiting to hear back from a few other schools.

Congrats Celtik!
