Chances after a gap year

Hi,
I was deferred, waitlisted and finally rejected at UNC Chapel Hill for the c/o 2018. Now I'm taking a gap year in Moldova and Estonia (Russian language program through State Department) and reapplying EA. My stats are as follows:

In state
highly competitive public school (regarded as best/one of best in region)
GPA: 3.5 UW/4.8 W
ACT: 33 (35 English, 31 Math, 32 Reading, 32 Science and 8 on the essay)
RANK: 74/577 (12.8% which I know should be 10% but it is what it is)

AP:
World History 4
Enviro: 4
Macro: 4
Physics B: 4
Calc AB: 5
Stat: 5

SENIOR GRADES:
AP Calculus AB (B)
AP Physics B (A)
IB Twentieth Century Topics (B)
AP English 4 (A)
AP German (A)
AP Statistics (A)

SAT II:
German: 760
Math 1: 720

I'm reusing my Common Application essay from last year (with tweaks) because the prompts didn't change and I felt that it was one of the strongest parts of my application (got me into several other schools that ended up being too expensive to attend).
