I was deferred on the first round of admissions. I get an answer back on March 14th I believe pending new SAT/ACT scores and midterm senior grades. Here's my current stats.

3.2 GPA / 3.88 Weighted (ALL honors, a few AP)
26 ACT (Up from a 24, FSU shows 27 now)
1070/1680 SAT (Just took this past Saturday)
75+ Hours community service.
Enrolled in the Engineering Program since freshmen year in high school.

I sent in my midterm grades (3.7 weighted) and my new ACT (now 27). I didn't send my ACT previously, I don't know why, so I'm sure that had an affect on the decision. Anyways, what are my chances now coming in March? I got accepted to USF and their College of Engineering with a scholarship, yet waitlisted at UCF.

Your GPA is probably fine. The SAT score is so-so by FSU standards. Have you already sent it to them? I’m no expert but I think I’d consider only sending them the GPA and ACT, which looks better.

He would have had to have had either his ACT or SAT on file, and since he didn’t send in his ACT I would guess that would mean he had sent in his SAT score.

OP, if you were deferred before your ACT score wouldn’t have necessarily been a make-or-break. If you ever received a grade below a C in any course, that likely would have been the reason for being deferred (no matter what your GPA or SAT/ACT was). We’ve seen people report this year that getting 1 D or F on their transcripts was enough to keep them from getting in even with absolutely stellar profiles.

Sorry I didn’t include that earlier. All FSU had originally was my SAT score and transcript. I’ve received a D twice on a six weeks grade but never has it shown up on my transcript as my final semester grade was a C I believe. I’m hoping the fact that I maintained my GPA this semester, my 27 ACT and hopefully my higher SAT (when it becomes available) will help sway their decision.
