I wonder is it possible to amend another essay or something. It su_ks that BC doesn’t have a supplement essay or something.

20% is twice as likely as 10%. Not great though…

I think the most important thing is to maintain good grades and, hopefully, improve grades throughout senior year to show that senioritis hasn’t affected you. Submit any new standardized tests, disclose anything new about ECs or Community service or whatever, and keep your fingers crossed. :)

Dear Inspiron2012 : Your two-way SAT of 1340 is at/below the midpoint of last year’s regular admission class. Given your writing score, your three-way score is further below that midpoint. Your ACT score is weaker than your two-way SAT since typically BC has been only considering scores in the 30+ range. Your GPA at 3.4 is really a good achievement, but as you have seen from the acceptance thread, there have not really been any acceptances in that range. Sports (one year) is really not a valuable addition (does BC have a fencing team?), no music or arts listed, and no volunteerism listed.

Basically, the question you have to ask about your application is “what do you add to BC? … not what BC can do for you!” How do you make the experience better for others in the Jesuit tradition? This might sound a little preachy and I apologize for that. However, if you are really serious about BC, you need to do some serious soul searching to answer these very simply stated questions. Good luck in the final rounds of your college pursuit!

Dear jorr08/Coopjust : Working through some of the estimated numbers, consider these. The entering class will be 2,250 in total (standard) … let’s assume that from the approximate 2,000 Early Admissions offers, 700 student accept. (2000 acceptances, 4000 deferrals, 1000 rejections.) This would be relatively consistent with a yield rate of 30%.

This would leave about 1,550 spots available. Again, applying a yield rate of 33%, about 4,650 offers are yet to be made … let’s round it up to 5,000 by decreasing the yield (unlikely, but fine for this).

There are an anticipated 23,000 applications still to come in regular decision and 4,000 in the deferred pool.

Let’s assume the 5,000 acceptances (potentially) from 27,000 pool applicants. This will about 18.5% acceptances from here.
