To sum things up, I was deferred on the Early-Decision date of December 14th. An admissions officer told me why I was deferred and not given a decision. My test scores were not up to par with the requirements that Florida State holds, which is a 1500 SAT (500CR, 500M, 500W). My Critical Reading score stood at a 490 for the SAT and I was given the "Deferred" status immediately (Yes I know, thats awfully low). However, after taking the SAT again I bumped that score up to a 500. The message below is what appears on my Application Status:

"We have reviewed your application for admission to The Florida State University and have decided to delay making a decision until March 14, 2012. We recommend that you provide the following:

Mid-year senior grades - Have your grades sent to Florida State as soon as they become available but no later than February 15.
New ACT or SAT results - Retake either test prior to March 2012 and request that the scores be sent to Florida State."

As March 14th approaches quicker than ever, I've been going a bit crazy on whether I even have a chance at getting accepted or not. I'm just curious what you all think my chances of acceptance are. How often are students even admitted after being deferred? Are the chances of acceptance slim after deferral? Also, have any of you been accepted after being deferred?

ACT: 24 Composite. 23 English, 25 Math, 20 Reading, 28 Science.

I'm pretty sure my ACT cannot be considered due to my Reading sub-score being so low. However, I do know my SAT can be used. Also, my grades from the first semester of my Senior year were all A's. FSU is my top choice, followed by UCF. I have already been admitted into UCF, but truthfully I would much rather attend Florida State. So with that all being said, I would greatly appreciate it if you could chance me and give me any information about the deferral process or chances after being deferred. If you have any questions or need any other info regarding my High School stats, please let me know.

Thanks! And Go Noles!
