@Cicero1 CONGRATS!
Almost all universities will waive you the common App fee or their own app fee. There are two ways that I did, and many students use.
1: Ask your GC if she/he has College board fee waiver-tell him/her to send them to colleges. Sign the fee waiver(it’s small), put the dates you took SAT, and GC will sign it. Colleges will accept them 99% of times. Unlike SAT, they have no limits

Use common app waivers. They are new features-according to my GC-from last year. Print it, give it to GC. Then GC will do the rest of work.

Thanks to all who have responded! Do you think my lack of any really amazing extracurriculars will be glaring? Or do you think it will be balanced out by the rest of my application?

The main ECs I have listed right now on the Common App are:
Varsity Cross-Country (9th-10th grade, co-captain (9th), captain (10th); 30 hours a week, 28 weeks a year)
Family Responsibilities: Babysitting and cooking for my siblings (9th-12th grades; ~12 hours a week, 50 weeks a year)
Volunteer in a Gubernatorial Campaign (11-12 grades; ~4 hours a week, 20 weeks a year)
Researching and self-studying AP US & European History (9th-12th grades; ~5 hours a week, ~40 weeks a year)
Volunteering at church & food pantry, (9th-12th grades, ~3 hours a week, 40 weeks a year)
Peer Tutoring, especially in English, History, and Math (9th-12th grades; 5 hours a week, 36 weeks a year)
Assistant Archivist for my school’s archives (9th-12th grades; 1 hour a week, 40 weeks a year)
Founding member, Physics Club (12th grade; 2 hours a week, 30 weeks a year)
Are these good enough?

APPLY TO FEWER COLLEGES!!! Seriously, it will be soooooo expensive to apply as application fees are around $60 for each college. You have very good stats and will definitely get into more than a few of the colleges you are applying to, so you don’t have to be afraid of not getting into any. I had the same problem at the beginning of the college process, but I eventually got my list down from 19 to 10, which is a more reasonable number. Honestly, getting into high school is way harder than getting into college!

You can apply for application fee waivers. I literally paid for one application out of 16. Stop listening to these people and apply to as many schools as possible. Sure, you will only be attending one school, but if you only apply to three you are drastically limiting you chances, as well as options.

@xoxo14: Yes, I talked to my guidance counselor and she got me a fee waiver. The only drawback to applying to many colleges is the amount of essays, but I am making good progress on those.

Yeah, I remember the supplements were killer and consumed my entire winter break, but it’s worth it in the end I promise! Hopefully you can use the same essay for multiple supplements and maybe just tweak a few things so that it works. Good luck!
