Chances, Alternatives, etc.

I am a student at a two-year college planning to transfer in next fall. However, I do not know where I have a decent chance at being admitted. My GPA is a 3.40 overall and 3.65 in my major (Physics/Math) and I have not yet taken the SAT/ACT. I'm a California resident but I'm interested in applying OOS as well. My EC's are lacking but I do work at the college and I'm a Phi Theta Kappa member In addition to participating in the Physics club. The schools I'm looking at include:
UCB
UCSD
Reed
Marlboro
NM Institute

...as well as a few others. My friend says I should apply to Carnegie Mellon, but I'm still unsure. Which of these schools are matches? What other schools might I look at applying to? What kind of SAT or ACT score would boost my chances at better schools?

You won't get much advice without SAT/ACT scores. Your GPA doesn't give enough information.
I suspect your best bet will be the UC system. There's some kind of automatic admission agreement...

Also, if you are interested in the UCs, there is a whole crazy method of determining a "UC GPA"--which only includes sophomore and junior year courses and adds 8 points for honors courses--look at my comments to megan15's thread below for info on this--then repost your UC GPA as well as the test scores and ECs for better chances estimates.

If you are looking at Marlboro you might also want to consider Bennington.
