Chances?- And a few questions.

Alright, this isn't really much of a "chance" thread, since I'm still deciding on whether or not I should apply. However, I'm an OOS student, from NY. My GPA- Unweighted, because my school doesn't offer AP Classes, is around a 3.6 or so, and I've taken the highest/toughest coure-load my school has to offer, which isn't really much, but it's the best I could have possibly done. SAT Scores aren't so good though, and they range with a 560- Math, 520- Reading, 610- Writing. Not sure if it would go up by much, but I'm guessing even if it did, it would be around that range.

EC's include volunteering at the library/places of worship/fund-raising activities/National Honors Society/Working at my fathers store during freshmen year/Teachers Assistance.

So yea, just a few basics, and I know it isn't much to base a rash decision on, but what would the majority of you say about my chances? My recommendations would be really good, and I know for a fact my essay would be excellent, since I'm really good at writing. Remember, my school doesn't offer AP's, so I didn't have that option, but did take the highest level of course-load they offer.

Thanks. :)

not to be a jerk, but i severely doubt you'll have even a remote chance of being admitted.

Sorry, I'd say UVA is a reach for you. Of course, I could be wrong. When you do finalize your list of schools to which you are applying, I'd recommend having those "reach" schools, and also more realistic schools, and "safeties" for added security. Good luck to you.

Your 1080 SAT and 3.6 UW GPA will definitely hurt you as well as a lack of AP/IB classes...High Reach considering OOS.
