<p>Hi everyone I am applying to UCD as a Biology major and I need some help. So the thing is that UCD required a 2.8 GPA and by the end of fall I will have a 3.4 GPA. However, the problem is that in one of my Biology classes I got a C. I know that with the C I cannot apply for TAG, but my question is if I have a C in that one biology class will I have not chance at UCD. I mean I will have a year of Calculus both A’s, a year of General Chemistry A’s, one class in organic chemistry A and 1 class in molecular biology an A and the other biology class a C. So my main question is about the C because I know that I cannot do TAG but will it also affect my admission chances. So can you guys please help me out. Thanks a lot.</p>
<p>Why do you think that you won’t be able to TAG if you get a C in your Biology class? I had 4 C’s on my transcript when I TAG’d in 2010 and I was accepted just fine for Fall 2011. The only way that C can affect you is if it brings your GPA below 3.2, which is what you need to TAG, not 2.8 (2.8 was prior to Fall 2012), and even then, a C won’t decrease your GPA so dramatically if you’re getting A’s in your other courses. You still have a chance even with a C. Don’t be so worried! All you need to TAG to UC Davis is a 3.2 GPA and your major prep coursework completed (you can find this out on Assist.org–if your community college doesn’t have the equivalent course that is TOTALLY okay, you can just take them at UCD if you get accepted).</p>
