Chances (and an extra question)

Out of state (transfer student) from Tulane Univ.
GPA from midterms: around 3.8

High school info:
Rank: top 15%
GPA: 3.7UW/3.98W
SAT: 1860 (570CR/600M/690W)

I would like to look at U of O for music performance (voice.) It seems to have a wonderful school of music too!

Oh, also, I am just wondering in terms of politics, how is U of O? Is it liberal? (I'd imagine it to be!) And is it accepting of gays? (and/or have a sizable gay community?)

Thank you all!

Wow our stats are almost identical (specifically SAT's). I got 570 CR/600 M/670 W and my gpa is 3.5 UW. Anyway, I think you have a good shot at Oregon - although I'm no expert. From what I've heard/read, U of O is definitely liberal and the town of Eugene is even more liberal. Apparently there's a lot of hippies and druggies but I'm not sure about the gay population.

You should be able to get in based on what you wrote. Eugen is a pretty open accepting community of all types of diversities and orientations.

I'm not sure of the population size of the gay community but there must be a student group you could email, just look around their website.

Sounds like Oregon would fit perfectly and you'd definitely get in if you haven't already. But why would you transfer from Tulane? Thats a good school.

I hateeee tulane haha

Too bad O-State is better than the ducks!
