Okay… I’m sick of always looking at this thread and never seeing anything knew. I would LOVE to go to Bucknell but unfortunately it seems like to me that its a little bit out in the middle of nowheres, however my hometown isn’t much better. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I’d also like to know what my chances are for admission.

Stats:
1280 SAT
3.9/94.46 weighted GPA
Ranked 10/121
AP’s insist of US History my junior year, scored a 2 (bad I know but we had a horrible teacher) and I’m taking European History and English Literature and Composition this year. Plus I’m taking a college Calculus course offered at my school. Unfortunately we don’t have any other AP’s offered at my school, but i’ve taken every single honors class possible.
SAT II’s: 510 US History (once again a reflection of my horrible teacher)/ 560 Writing/630 MathIC

Extracurriculars:

Student Council VP, 12, Secretary, 11, and Representative 10
Band Vice President and Section Leader

VICA Health Knowledge Bowl NYS Champion
10 Varsity letters including Soccer, Track (indoor and outdoor) and Golf (boys and girls)
Plus the list can go on and on…

I have great recommendations, one including one from a New York State senator, community service hours and many awards.

My son is a freshman at Bucknell, and he loves it. While it is in the middle of "Pennsyltucky" as he calls it, there are a lot of things to be involved with on campus, and it is easy to find rides to NYC, Philly, or D.C. on the weekends. Your ten varsity letters indicate quite an interest in athletics. Bucknell has a variety of intramural and club teams in addition to their Div 1-A teams. Check out their basketball team...it's having a great season. (They play in the Patriot League)

your test scores are on the low end, your grades are on the high end---that puts you right at the 50% spot-----better have charmed them with you r interview! What part of the country are you from?

call the admissions office tommorrow and see what they can do. They have plenty of alumni in your area that serve as interviewers. Making the effort also shows your high interest. Good luck

update, the website says that interviews are not evaluated. However, an alumni interview ( if it goes well ), can only help--no downside. They say that Jan. and Feb. is the right time.
