What would you say my chances of getting in with:

Weighted 10th-11th GPA: 3.75
ACT+Writing: 28
2 Honors courses (2 semesters Chemistry, 2 English III) throughout 10th-11th
AP Physics+AP Calculus AB Senior year
Couple of ECs/Skills, but none are related to engineering

are? I want to go into Biomedical Engineering. I’m planning to go for the early application, however they’ve stated that once the stuff is submitted there isn’t any going back to change it. I have already signed up for the ACT at the end of Oct in hopes of scoring higher…I’m quite sure I can (crashed the essay, scored a 6 of possible 12) Maybe I should retake and wait for the regular deadline?
And one last thing: how exactly are admissions done? Where does the essay/interview/etc come in? I’m sure it can’t be all be done through csumentor.edu…
thanks for any help!

I can't really give you your chances but I can tell about their admissions. They don't have an essay or interview. They pretty much only use your GPA and test scores. They also only compare you to other people applying to whatever major you choose.

Thanks for the info, looks like applying would be easier than I thought...

I just checked out the freshman applicant profile for 06
Avgs for selected Engineering applicants: 3.81 gpa / 27 ACT / 1280 SAT
Avgs for enrolled Engineering applicants: 3.71 gpa/ 25 ACT / 1167 SAT

I top their average ACT by one point, but I'm lacking in GPA. But it looks like people with stats quite lower than mine managed to attend... still, I'm worried because I hear BME is one of the more competitive engineering majors. Im an in-state resident btw

vc89: your chances look really good. I got accepted to biomed eng. with a weighted uc/csu gpa of 3.67 and 1210 SAT.

I see
I decided to go for the regular deadline. Just re-took the ACT today and feel that I did much better than the last. Hoping for a 31+ those test prep books really help.
and thanks for the response!

You do know that with early decision, if you don't make it in ED, you'll be put under regular admissions.
