<p>Basics: Black/African-American, Female, Kansas, First generation American (both parents are from Nigeria)</p>

Weighted GPA: 4.10</p>

IB Physics - 4 (I don't know if I'll report this)

<p>IB HL Exams (May 2009): Biology, World Literature, Spanish 5</p>

<p>SAT: Not good (1780; CR: 650, M: 540 [ew], W: 590) but I have been studying and I'm re-taking it in October
SAT II:
Biology E - 720
Literature - 650 (possibly re-taking)
Math 1 - 610 (possibly re-taking)</p>

<p>ACT: C: 31, E: 34, M: 32, R: 31, S: 28 (should I re-take it?)</p>

<p>what state do you live in? apply to state schools as safeties. they cost less and depending on the state, they can be REALLY REALLY good schools (like UVA and michigan for example)</p>

<p>all the schools you have up there are good reaches. go for all of them. you have a shot.</p>

<p>I live in Kansas but a lot of the colleges here don't really interest me ^^;. Plus, my mom has told me that if I do attend school that she will not support me. Stupid yes, but I have no other income of my own.</p>

<p>u should definitely retake SATs and ACTs. i think u do better on ACTs like me, so retake it, and try to get 33+. then u wont have to worry about ur SATs cuz ur ACTs will b good! =P try to get some more ECs down too.</p>

<p>University of Chicago-reach/high reach-write REALLY GOOD essays becuz UChicago puts a lot of weight on essays.
Cornell University (expecting it to be a reach)-u were right =(
Wesleyan University-not sure
Northwestern University (ditto)-reach
Amherst College-low reach</p>

<p>i suggest adding some safetys as well as some mid-range schools (so u wont HAVE to go to a safety ^^).</p>
