Opinions+suggestions?

Thanks!

I’ve posted this same kind of reply before but I will do it again. I think you definitely have a chance at regular decision, even though your GPA is on the low side, I would definitely focus on that. However, you do have a great course list so that will help.
But if you realllly want to go to JHU I would definitely apply ED. The acceptance rate is so much higher; I had similar stats (better GPA but only 3 APS) and I got in ED. I doubt I would have been accepted RD, and I don’t regret my decision now.

Thanks for the reply! I am really interested in JHU, have not decided on which school to ED on yet. Do you think my extra cirics. will help me get in?

Your extra-curriculars are good but not uniquely so. However, if you talk about them in a unique way, in how they applied to you, that’d be very good for your application.

That being said, I think the biggest downer is your GPA. Everything else is pretty decent. However, as you said about your freshman year, you do have a reason and Hopkins will take that into consideration, I imagine.

Write a killer essay, have good recs, and maybe take some subject tests and you have a fair shot. Apply ED if you really want to go to Hopkins. If you are unsure, then maybe ED isn’t for you. ED is for people who know they want to go to Hopkins.

Chance me?
