JOBS:
I worked three summers in a technology department at a Board of Education.
I am currently employed at a photo store.

OTHER:
I plan on majoring in communications (TV or advertising). I have been a part of my schools television station for the past three years. I run a team and am the towns student cable access coordinator. I also worked three summers in a Tech. Department. Most of the essays I wrote had to do with my dedication and how I became interested in communications. I hope I showed some commitment

SCHOOLS:
-UNC- Chapel Hill (applied EA-hear Jan. 31st)
-Boston University
-American University
-University of Delaware
-University of Maryland
-The College of New Jersey
-Marist College
-Rutgers University (accepted + 18k)

Thank you in advance. Oh. Im a white female from NJ and a small, public school.

The more prestigious schools for communications are like 40k.
My parents are divorced and can't settle anything,
They wouldn't fill out financial aid and with my dad, I wouldn't get any money anyways.
My dad has $$, but he won't put any towards my education.
They wouldn't let me apply to the big $$ schools besides BU. And BU because they know how badly I have wanted to go to the school for years.
It's a long, boring story.

That was on my original list but I ruled it out. Plus the app was due Jan. 1st. I'm pretty much done with applying. I was just wondering what everyone thought of my chances, especially UNC and BU.

-UNC- Chapel Hill - Slight Reach, but you should definitely get in
-Boston University - Match, I don't know about scholarships though :-(
-American University - Safety
-University of Delaware - Safety
-University of Maryland - Safety
-The College of New Jersey - Safety
-Marist College - Safety

Your scores are very similar to mine. We have the same SAT score (although different breakdowns for Math and Verbal).

Here's what I would say. You'd definitely get into BU, American University, University of Delaware, University of Maryland, The College of New Jersey, Rutgers University, and Marist College. It's hard to tell for UNC-Chapel Hill since they accept most of their applicants from in-state. It's also very selective, but you have a solid shot of getting in. You have good grades and your SATs fit the score range. Good luck!
