What are my chances for CIT? Possibly Computer Science? Maybe mechanical engineering?

--Ray.

mech engineering you'll most likely get in. but for comp sci it doesn't seem like you really have an interest in it with your ec's and course selections. your sat scores are fine, your ap's are a little scattered. you should be fine, cuz there's a lot of people from princeton here.

^^why's that ???what shows his/er interest in mechanical engineering but not comp science??

Go for Computer. You're in.

He's taken AP Comp Sci. I assume you'll have other things to mention when you write the essay about why you are applying to particular schools within Carnegie Mellon. You look like a reasonable match. If you are unsure, I'd apply to both CIT and SCS now, and see how you feel (and where you get accepted) come April.
