^ Yes because Holy Cross is SAT optional and Northeastern isn’t. Also compare the students they are fairly similar with Northeastern getting a slight edge.

I am a graduate of both Holy Cross and Northeastern University. The two schools are levels apart when it comes to academics and admissions. Northeastern is a fine school in its own right, but Holy Cross is one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country.

KY Crusaders - I do not think they are miles apart. How can you refute these statistics let alone that Holy Cross is SAT optional.

Holy Cross
Acceptance rate 36%
SAT Critical Reading: 600 - 680
SAT Math: 610 - 690
SAT Writing: 600 - 690
ACT Composite: 26 - 30

Northeastern University
Acceptance Rate: 35%
Critical Reading 590-680
Math 630-710
Writing 600-690
ACT- 28-31

Students clearly make up a schools academic environment and Holy Cross and Northeastern have about the same SAT scores but Northeastern has better ACT scores. I think they are both about equal with Northeastern having a slight edge.

You’ve obviously been eating way too much math for breakfast. Holy Cross is much more highly regarded than Northeastern. For generations, Northeastern was the quintessential commuter school for the B- student. While it has gotten a lot better over the past 10-15 years, it is is still well beneath HC.

HC has just 2,800 undergrad students, endowment of 627M and acceptance rate of 33.8%

NU has a breathtaking 12,560 undergrads and similar size endowment at 672M and acceptance rate of 35.2%

Holy Cross is SAT optional and i think its more impressive that a larger school can garner those stats relative to a smaller school. To say that Northeastern is well below Holy Cross is laughable. Just look at the student stats. Teachers are negligible. Holcy Cross is going down hill and Northeastern was ranked 2nd up and coming.

usnews and world report
ranks northeastern at 80 in national universities with a score of 44
and Holy Cross is ranked at 36 but scores it at a 72
i know that they are in different catagories
my GC says that they are both reaches

do you really think wheaton is a safety school?

Well I am a current NU student and I can tell you that you Northeastern is not Sure-ish for you. As a matter of fact, I would say its a reach with Holy Cross. Good luck.

you all are being ignorant. northeastern is more selective than holy cross (even being the larger school by A LOT). just please look at the statistics please before you speak… northeastern WAS a school for B students but is now NOT… holy cross doesn’t even require applicants to submit SAT scores. that means only the applicants with high scores would submit then, and northeastern’s average scores are the same if not marginally higher than h.c.
holy cross is a good school but please don’t be saying its undoubtedly above neu when the caliber of students at each are equal (trust me i know kids from both schools…)

I just want to know thought do you really think Wheaton College (MA) is a safety because I feel is it is more of a target. What do you people think?
