<p>Internship at Grameen Bank in Bangladesh- they won the noble prize back in 2006 for their microfinance work and it was definitely a memorable experience</p>

<p>Internship at a garment factory in Bangladesh. Did a critique on the sweat shop like conditions. Two weeks</p>

-over 400 hours volunteering at a summer camp for mentally disabled kids

<p>The bank didn’t win the nobel prize its founder Muhammad Yunus did. Your ACT is low for Columbia but you do have a good high school rank/gpa. Consider retaking ACT or SAT reasoning and make those essays really amazing. Also being a underrepresented minority(URM) might actually help your case.</p>

<p>ACT is a bit too low. Might try taking it again, but I can’t stress enough how you should show interest in Columbia in the application. Research the college, and show value in the Core Curriculum and specifics as to why you want to attend. The Ecs are fine, perhaps a bit more leadership, but they seem on par. CC is going to be a lot more selective this year, but again an ACT boost and demonstrated interest might help.</p>

<p>Yea i dont think my ACT is going up. I took it the first time and got a 29, then busted my ass off to get the 31.</p>

<p>Also i dont quite think im URM. I think bengali will just be grouped with Indians who are definetely not underrepresented</p>

<p>Maybe you should try the SAT? Your SATIIs are great for Columbia, so you might have better luck on the SAT than the ACT.</p>

<p>As you stand now, Columbia will be a monumental reach. </p>
