my hook is just the responsiblities i had as a role model for my brother and how i supported my family when my mom lost her job. well just wondering...does being the first person in my family history to go to college give me an advantage over others..just wodnering.. thanx

A few questions. What AP courses did you take, and what were your scores on the tests?

What is your intended major?

Also, how many people in your school get into UC's every year; and does your school have ELC?

Lastly, are you white or asian?

Good hook on the responsibilities, and being the first person in your family to go to college does give you an advantage.

If you have money problems, go to www.fastweb.com they have scholarships. Also, the UC's have 3 or 4 scholarship opportunities you could have signed up for in their application (i hope you signed up)

If you applied for a non-engineering major, I'd give you these odds:
UCB-slight reach/match
UCLA-match
UCSD-safety
UCI-safety
If you applied for an engineering major, I'd give these odds:
UCB-reach
UCLA-slight reach
UCSD-slight reach/match
UCI-safety

Just my takes on your transcript
*one last note: Good luck, it seems as though we're applying to the same schools and you have a better transcript...keep me updated to what colleges you get accepted into :)
