chances .. application complete 10/25 KINESIOLOGY

hey! ok, my application was complete 10/25 AND STILL NO ANSWER!
my mom called and spoke to one of my adcoms and he said i should be hearing early january, hopefully this weekend! well i want to know my chances.

Kinesiology
Soph- Junior GPA: 3.5 Umich Gpa : 3.7
Senior first quater that i sent: 3.8
SAT: 1270/1980
ACT: 27
Great recommendations
decent essays
great ec

What do you think??!?!?!?

Don't think so, especially because you are applying to kines.

Kinesiology is, if not, the hardest undergrad college for students....especially if you're not involved in any athletics....because most of the spots are reserved for those athletes (correct me if I'm wrong)

And with those stats....low GPA and in the ball range ACT score, I'd probably plan on going to the safety? MSU has a great Athletic Training program or what not :D

what do you think my chances would have been if i applied to lsa. I called and asked before i applied and the adcoms said that kinesiology was only a small "notch" harder than lsa. I felt that 3.7 -3.8 was a decent gpa. Could i have made it into lsa . And can i reapply there before feb 1 if i get rejected to kines?????????

CavStudent8813 was Accepted to Kinesiology
1990 (690 reading, 640 math, 660 writing) 3.8 U Mich GPA
OOS Male app comp 11/03

sure he has higher stats... but not significantly higher...

you people make it seem like i have absolutely no shot whatsoever

I heard they have few spots for Kinesiology, but one of my friends transferred from the LSA into Kinesiology. I don't think the application process was too difficult. It seemed like it was a matter of choice. I can find out more about that for you.

If you know you have a shot then why ask for our opinions. People here are just giving you some honest feedback. Take it for what it is.

odin64x is right. Why would you waste our time and your time if you already knew the answer yourself....only to backlash those that gave you simple feedback...and I even suggested a kind alternative for you.

You probably had a chance at LSA...and applying early would have helped there because at least you could have been deferred and then accepted later.

You never know....I got waitlisted with slightly better stats than yours. I applied to LSA.

hey sry if i seemed rude, im just getting a little anxious about the whole situation because i was misguided and led to belive that kines was on par with lsa. TOTALLY WRONG

anyways i have applied to kines - on october 4th didnt get recognized till october 25... nothing i can do about that

im still waiting on a decision but i wanted to know if i had a fair shot ... when many people responded that i didnt... i felt confused because people with slightly higher stats then me have been accepted.

also, if i was to be rejected / deffered ... is it at all possible to reapply to lsa, if i recieve my decision before the deadline?

also thank you for the alternatives, however if i dont get into michigan ill be going wisconsin next year. Which is fine, but michigan is my dream school.

anyways thanks again, sorry if i came off as rude... im just nervous .. the waiting game sucks

lvp, aw...I'm sorry. It's okay to be stressed...it happens to us all, and I can relate to your anxiety...especially since I was deferred from LSA for 3 whole weeks before getting a decision...yes. And that period was seriously hard to bear. It's all right. I thought for sure that I would not be accepted, so I considered alternatives and settled on some of them.

Be patient...and who knows? we might bump into each other on campus next fall? hehehe ;)
