I have very similar qualifications but I am Hispanic. Does anyone think either one of us has a chance, and if so, do I have a better one because of diversity?

Yes. Yes. One would have to be deaf, dumb, blind, living in one of the pyramids for the past 45 years or so to fail to recognize that diversity is THE battle cry on campus. WFU is no diff.

Hey thanks for the response Whistle Pig, anyone else have any thoughts.

i was about the same as you grade wise, but my SAT was a little higher (680M, 590VERBAL, 640WRITING) and i got waitilisted and then rejected. i'm a white guy though, and since wake lacks diversity, they may have passed up on me because of that.

I think you have a good chance Jtfair33, the fact that you applied ED will certainly help you.

Thanks for the responses, I hope it all works out. I should know in about a week and a half

JtFair, I just sent in me ED app. a couple of minutes ago; isn't it a wierd feeling? Let me know how yours turns out

I hope we both know in a week in a half cause I sent mine almost 5 weeks ago. :P

haha wow no way. Thats such a bummer. I sent mine about 3 weeks ago, looks like I will be waiting a little longer than anticipated.

Just got the October SAT back, pleasant surprise, I now have M: 700, CR: 670, W: 670. These are the scores I sent Wake, hopefully this helps my chances significantly.

Any word yet JKirk? Im still waiting its been about 4 weeks

You guys won't believe this... My dean/principal of the private high school I'm going to just screwed up my application. 6 weeks down the drain. I just got a letter today saying that I'm missing my secondary school report as well as my TRANSCRIPT. She didn't even bother to send in my transcript...

Talk about a nightmare. Well, good luck to all, that just blew my plan of trying to sneak in early when there weren't many applications. Hopefully you guys will hear back soon.

Nah, this is NOT to be laid at the errant feet of your dean/principal. She screwed up, but it was YOUR responsibility to make sure it was done.

Were I an admissions officer, and knew what you've told those of us out here in lalaland ... I'd say, "academically capable, socially immature. Hold for further information."

You blew it, but not the way you think.

Now, having said that, get it better the next time. This need not be fatal. But YOU are the one who scewed up here. Good luck and let's see how you handle this burp.

Yeah, you should have called the Admissions Office a long time ago to make sure that they received your stuff. When I did, they were very friendly and helpful. You really do have to be almost OCD to get everything in.
I knew something was wrong when you said it took near 6 weeks; that just didn't seem right.

RE: Whistle Pig
Frankly, I don't know why you can call me socially immature. You are certainly are entitled to an opinion but you don't understand what kind of situation I'm in nor do you know me or the dean of my school. Perhaps I did jump to conclusions but I don't think you have the angle/right to judge me. It just shows how much admittance to Wake means to me. I was OCD and I received a confirmation letter 3-4 days after applying stating that my application was complete and intact. Can you honestly say you would question about it after they sent a formal letter from the admissions office as well as the word of your principal? No hard feelings here, by the way, Whistle Pig.

As for the correspondence I received via phone through my dean from the admissions office today, they claimed that unless you applied SUPER early, (which evidently was before mid-September), they still haven't made any decisions fortunately. So the wait times for most of us will be six weeks, Tace, at least that's what I was told by my dean.
