Hmm...seems you like politics. Should hook up with an ultra-liberal like me for a lively debate.

Assuming you did well (enough?) on your SAT Is, I think your only problem is your GPA which is somewhat under BU's average. Note that average is indeed average, not minimum. So don't be set back too much by it, but realize you're taking a more hefty chance than some on the board. Does that include second semester senior grades? If not, then if you did well, you could be up to a 3.3 or even a 3.4 (pure speculation on my part, feel free to correct me).

I'd definitely mention your Young Republican Membership. While Mass. was one of a few states in which every county voted Democrat in the '04 election, I'll turn your attn to this incident at UC Berkeley (another "ultra-liberal" school):

An instructor walks into his political systems class on the first day and looks at the 40 students in the lecture hall. "No, no," he says, "this class should have 15 people in it! It's a small seminar, not a disgusting lecture! I'll have you write an essay on why you should remain in the class. It's due tomorrow, good luck!"

Before starting, however, he asked the class, "As an afterthought, how many of you are Republican?" Two shots soared into the air. "Good, good...you two can stay in my class...you'll be fun to debate against. THe rest of you, write that essay!".

In short, you can't be hurt by your political beliefs in this process-not even in God Almighty Taxachusetts!
