Chances Appreciated :) Thanks!

I'd like opinions to see if there is a chance to be accepted to the following schools.
I am white, Jewish girl from South Florida. Other than UF (my safety) I am applying to:

University of Miami, Emory, Tufts, Rice, Brown (double legacy), Yale, Princeton, and possibly Duke and Harvard.

Here's my stats, I won't bore you with a lot of details, but let me know if you want more information.

Scores:
ACT: 33 (highest subscores: E-36, M-35, R-34, S-32)
SAT: 1490/1600 and 2260/2400
SAT II Chem - 740
SAT US History - 710
Planning on retaking Math II (680) and getting above 750+ with major studying

School Info:
My class rank is 2/544 (top 1%)
GPA is 4.0 unweighted, 5.3 weighted
I have taken 8 AP classes so far (including AP Chem, AP Calc AB)
* I've received straight A's in all of them, and at least a 4+ on every AP test
This year, I am enrolled in 5 more AP classes (including AP Physics B, AP Calc BC)

ECs:
President of Mu Alpha Theta
Managing Editor of national-award winning newspaper
Treasurer of National Honor Society.

I am a member of Share-A-Pet organization for 6 years now (pet therapy program). I also write for their national and local newsletters, and this summer I am helping the founder with a book he is writing about the organization.

I have over 400+ service hours, I've been on a 6-week summer program building houses for Habitat for Humanity in Kansas City and doing other service projects. I worked as a Medical Data Manager at a doctor's office this summer.

I have been on the varsity tennis team since 9th grade, and I've been playing recreational soccer for the city for 14 years, and played basketball for 8 years.

I have AP Scholar w/ Distinction, MIT Book award, National Merit Commended, National Scholastic Press Association Story of the Year Honorable mention, many other newspaper awards for writing, etc.

Thanks so much for any chances :)

Your stats look pretty good. I think you have a good chance of getting in to University of Miami, Emory, Tufts, and Duke; you could probably also get in to Brown with legacy too. The others are pretty much a crapshoot for anyone. At this point, it will be up to your essays and teacher recommendations.

Good Luck

thanks, that’s what i was thinking, but I hope I have luck on my side (bump)

You stand an excellent chance with Brown if you apply ED.

Will I still have a decent chance if I apply RD? The binding contract is a little scary, especially with my financial situation.

I think you still have a viable chance at Brown regardless of whether you do ED or RD. Most likely your chances of acceptance will get boosted by ED if you decide to do it. Your double legacy will help regardless of which one you do anyway. Btw, make sure you get that math II up before you apply.

Chance me back? Nobody has posted anything really useful :frowning:

Your ranking and grades are great, and your test scores are pretty good too. I’d say that your ECs are pretty strong as well, because it seems like you’ve shown dedication to them. Assuming that your essays and letters of rec are pretty good as well, I’d say that you have a strong chance of getting into Miami, Emory, Rice, Tufts, and Duke, and maybe even Brown too with the double legacy, regardless of ED (though it’d certainly improve your chances). HPY are, like Sprinter said, a crapshoot for anyone, but it’s worth a shot. :)

Thanks to both of you! I hope you’re right. I’m taking the October 1st SAT Math II and studying a lot, so hopefully that goes up. I’ll take a look at your pages.
