Classes:
all honor classes except the electives, which don't have any levels
-IB English HL: A
-IB Math HL: B***
-IB Chem HL: A
-IB French SL: A
-AP Physics B: A
-IB Comp Sci SL: B

Senior Year (doing pretty well so far):
-IB English HL
-IB Math HL
-IB Chem HL
-IB History of Americas
-IB Theory of Knowledge
-AP Physics C***
-Student Service Learning
-Concert Band

Community Service:
biggest ones are: SAT Math teacher and SAT CR & W Teacher's Assistant

many other small ones:
-Science Fair judge
-Carnival set up
-Chinese School service

*Due to my school's weird scheduling system, I could not fit an AP Bio class in my schedule and IB Bio isn't enough for SAT II. So I studied the whole curriculum by myself (yes this is true), and my teacher told me a 680 is very respectable especially since I studied independently. I will also be taking the AP Bio test in May 2010, studying on my own again.

**The National English Honor Society was not available in my school until my senior year

***IB Math HL is, according to my teacher, the hardest math class offered in the county and also possibly THE hardest overall class in the county. Same goes for AP physics C, but it's probably not as hard as IB Math HL.

Schools:
-UPenn
-Wash. U. in St. Louis
-UChicago
-Duke
-Johns Hopkins
-UVA
-UNC Chapel Hill
-Michigan
-U. of Wash.
-UMD, college park

Chances are out of 10
-UPenn: 6-7
-Wash. U. in St. Louis: 6-7
-UChicago: 6-7
-Duke: 8
-Johns Hopkins: not really sure but maybe 6-7?
-UVA: I think 8-9
-UNC Chapel Hill: I think 8-9
-Michigan: I think 8-9
-U. of Wash.: 9
-UMD, college park: I think 8-9

Not really familiar with the bottom half of schools except U of Wash., but that’s what it seems like. Your Science Fair stuff is exceptional; I think it’ll carry you far. Thing is, you don’t have any leadership positions in all those clubs you’re in?

no I really don’t, because leaders are always elected by other members, and in high school, election for any club or team is just a popularity contest. It’s all about who is the better friend. To high school kids, inspirational words and great promises aren’t moving at all; to them, it’s only something to laugh at and ridicule.

I wrote one of my essays on this topic.
