Chances as Recruited Squash Player

<p>Hi, I have a chance to get recruited to the MIT Varsity Squash Team for the fall of 2014. I'm sure that academics really matter, even for recruited athletes, so what do you think my chances are if I apply ED as a recruit? As for my squash skill, I would probably be one of the top 5 players on the ladder as a freshman. </p>

<p>GPA:
UW - 3.88, W - 4.56
ACT:
33 (34 E, 36 M, 32 R, 31 S) (retaking this month)
SAT II's:
740 Math 2 (will retake), 730 US Hist, 700 Bio
Class Rank:
no class rank, estimated 6% out of 450 kids (top 100 public school)
Essays:
Common App - strong essay
Recommendations:
2 good teacher recs, great counselor rec, 2 fantastic recs from NIH
principal investigator and squash coach
EC's:
Squash Team (#1 player on ladder)
Coach for Squash Empower program for inner city kids

<p>Not too good with these chance threads, but I did notice some errors you might have made.</p>

<p>1) MIT has an early >action< availability, not early decision.</p>

<p>2) MIT has its own essay (does not use the Common App)</p>

<p>And just out of curiosity, what specifically are you interested in MIT for? Athletics/Engineering/Science/Political Science/etc.?</p>
