Chances as transfer from cc with 3.65 cumulative

Hey everyone,
I was wondering what my chances are at this school..
I am a finance major and very interested in this school due to its trading system...
From what I know Austin only admits fall admission only which is a minus as I was hoping to transfer in Spring.
Anyways I currently have a 3.65 cumulative, with a 4.0 last semester.
With another semester, I can probably bump up the GPA higher.
I am in the investment club and working part time as well as doing an internship at an insurance company full time.
Thanks "ya'll"

To gain admission to the business school you need to complete Calculus I & II (Business Calculus is okay but check with UT first), Macro and Microeconomics, and MIS. Usually, a 3.7 GPA or better will get you in but you never know as the cutoff changes every year.

NOTE: I’ve been told 3.65 should be okay but its tough to guage a “good” GPA.

You don’t need MIS, that class is only open to business majors at UT. You just need the four indicator courses: Differential and Integral calculus, and Micro and Macro economics.

UT Austin DOES take spring admits, but McCombs doesn’t. I would definitely raise your GPA up a bit to raise your chances. External transfers are very competitive.

Transfer in the spring, then internal transfer. It’ll be a lot easier…

Not really… to be an internal transfer, you must have 24 hours in residence. Which would mean you would have to take 24 hours in one semester (which would make it impossible to get a high enough GPA to transfer in), or wait a year and a half to get in.

okay thanks guys…seems like another year at a cc if I want to “try” my chances at Austin and Calc 2…thanks though, appreciate it a lot.
I will definitely consider it if I haven’t transferred by then.

McCombs average external acceptance GPA is a 3.9. Make sure you do some community service hours and write good essays.

Does McCombs focus on the grades for the prereqs?
I was kind of cocky going into economics as I have been following the news…and got a B… =[

But my other prereqs are super good such as Information Systems and Financial Acct, Statistics.
