Hey guys, would really appreciate what sort of chances I would have at these schools RD.

I am a senior. Multiracial: Black and Indian (the Asian kind). Immigrated to the U.S. 5 year back.

School: High competitive public school
GPA: 91-92 (3.7-3.8) UW
School does not weigh or rank. Most rig courseload.
SATs: 2180
SAT IIs: 740-760s on a bunch.

Taking APs: Physics C, Calc AB, Micro and Comp.

ECs:

I started my own online business. A friend and I created our own software and launched the site. The business gets a lot of hits and generates profits. The firm is registered as an LLC. I am the CEO of the firm and responsible for managing our relationship with the distributors as well as develop the business further. By far my primary activity.

I conducted economics research during junior and senior year. The researched focused on financial literacy and socioeconomic classes. I have submitted the project to Intel STS and plan on submitting to a variety of journals as well.

I have been elected as a representative at my school's student government.

I have studied indian classical music for the past 7 years. My focus has been on folk music.

Internships:

I currently intern at a hedge fund in the Chicago area. I got the internship by contacting them myself (I have no contacts in the industry or anything). I had the same responsibilities as college interns during the summer, but currently only work after school twice a week.

I have also interned at a corporate law firm. Attained it the same was as the hedge fund internship. Worked there during the summer and prepared case files and conducted legal research.

Here are the schools I am applying to:

Dartmouth
Duke
Cornell
Northwestern
Brown
Georgetown
Carnegie Mellon
Middlebury
Emory
Virginia

Question> Would I be considered a URM (I am half and half)? And how big of a boost does that give in college admissions (particularly the colleges I am applying to)?

Would appreciate more feedback. Thanks people.

I don't want to give you any false hope, but schools like Dartmouth, Duke, Cornell, Northwestern, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Middlebury are simply so competitive (with thousands of top quality applications every year) that they should all serve as "reach schools" for any applicant out there.

I strongly encourage you (and others) to apply to more "safety" schools. All the schools on your current list are among what we call "the top 25," and as every knows, things get really cloudy and risky when it gets to elite college admissions.

Thanks for the feedback. I really don't want to pigeon hole myself into anything. I also want to do work in computer science and languages in undergrad instead of strictly focusing on business (which really isn't important when you consider that most employers spend the first 6 months erasing whatever "business" a newly hired employee learnt at school).

Dartmouth slight reach
Duke slight reach
Cornell high match
Northwestern match
Brown high match
Georgetown high match
Carnegie Mellon match
Middlebury high match
Emory match
Virginia match
Columbia reach

btw, i hope u ticked the "black" box, would make it a lot easier
