I'm an in-state junior who would like to get into a UC, preferably UCLA, UCB, UCI, or UCD. (I'll probably also apply ED to UCLA, so please take that into consideration!)

I know there are other things besides grades and course difficulty, but for now I'll list only my most recent grades and my classes.

Honors Contemporary Comp/American Literature: B (weighted=A, 4 pts.)
AP U.S. History: A (weighted=5 pts.)
Algebra 2: B
Chemistry: C
French III: A
Spanish 1: A
Dual Enrollment JC Psychology: A
GPA: 3.71
Junior College Choir: A
Summer School JC Art History: A
Summer School JC Sociology: A

I know i have a huge weakness in the mathematics/science area. That stuff just doesn't compute with me.

Personally I think it's awful that that person was admitted. An 880 combined SAT! Notice, he probably got in because he was African American and his father died.

First you need to compute your UC GPA. This consists of taking only grades from 10th and 11th grades and taking the weighted GPA. AP and JC courses are weighted on a 5 point scale, so you get a bonus point from them. Since you have a few JC courses, your UC GPA is probably higher than you think.

i dont have a clue but i do have a question. Like on PrincetonReview.com when it shows the average GPA of lets say UCLA or UCB, is that UC GPA or not??????????

The average GPA from PrincetonReview.com and US News are unweighted GPAs, so they are not the official UC GPA. Here is some more admissions info:

strachbach, I think you have a chance for UCD. I know of someone in my sister's grade ('03) who was not an outstanding candidate who was rejected and after appealing got in. I am not saying that you are in the same category as he, I think you grade stats are much better than his were. Do you know what you want ot major in? You might want to correspond with the department of the major you are interested in. That might help. Anyway, good luck!
