This aint harvard - id say you got 98% chance of getting in

I wouldn't worry one bit. I had similiar stats and a 1340 and got 12k a year merit. I think you could get similiar.

^ Wow, nice, hopefully the same works for me!

Duffman28, Do not count on merit aid. Unfortunately when I called American, their rep told me that for the 2004 class nobody with an unweighted gpa under 3.8 and 1300 got merit aid.

you're in. I was def. on the border stat wise for merit aid (based on what northeast mom just said) and I got 12k a year. You have a much better back story than me, better classes, and you're from Florida, which geographically is much more desireable than the PA suburbs are. I love American for your major possibilities (i'm going next year for poli sci) and by the way, impressive NFL record.

np... ( i had to add my .02!)

i got in w/ a 3.3 gpa (like a B+) 1 ap class 1 college level class 1240 SAT score.

cheers to taking AP euro snr year! ;-)

^ Thanks, sounds like some pretty cool people go to American, heh.

doublelayer009,
Hope you don't mind, but it would be helpful to know if you received any merit aid offer. I am curious bcs when I called they told me the min. stats last yr. were 3.8 and 1300 for merit aid.
Thanks.

Yeah, I'm curious as well...

and the 3.8 that qualified was "unweighted".

humm.. maybe i didn't read the post above carefully... but i was just responding to the orginal poster's chance of getting into AU... i didn't mean to say anything about merit aid offer....

...anyway... no i was not offered merit aid (not that i really expeted it)... but i was give 2,000 of low interest loans (score) haha fun stuff ttul :-D

Doubelayer009, I was wondering whether you received merit aid. It might help those who need merit aid see if they have a chance getting some. Thanks for the info.

So, any other opinions, it is my slight safety, but I really want to make sure I'll probably get in, since it is my slight safety and all.

again.... unless one is an offical admissions counclier... then there really is't a sure "yes or no" of getting into any one college. My advice apply (its free!), worst case, u don't get in... best case you do! :) yea... also u never know what the pool of applicants for the class of 2010 may bring in.

much luck,

^ Thanks,

Any other ideas?
