THANKS A LOT!!! PLEASE BE HONEST!!!

No one will ever tell you that acceptance is certain, because it certainly isn't at any elite school. You have as good a chance as anyone that I have heard of. Intel is harder, but your experiences should be your hook. Apply, work on those essays - they are crucial since there are no interviews at Amherst, and Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you have a good chance, especially if you do ED. I agree with ejr1, essays are crucial.

Why dont you become a permanent resident/citizen?

well, first of all it's VERY competitive to get a green card these days. my family's on a waitlist but we're predicted to not even be looked at until like 2009. great...and there's also sumthn about my dad's visa which is that he can only stay for another year or sumthn...

i hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have some stats that are relatively similar to mine (although quite a bit more impressive :P) and I am going to be Amherst '10, so I would say apply and good luck!

dittogal88, if you haven't already, you should think about contacting the women's golf coach. Getting recruited definitely helps your chances since Amherst reserves a number of slots each year for athletes. Good Luck!
