White Male
Live in R.I, but can claim CT residency as well
Public Magnet High School
3 AP's taken (A- in AP English Language and B+ in Bio last year, currently have a B+ in Ap English Literature
Fairly tough courseload over the course of my HS career, pretty good amount of honors classes. Also, I'm taking 8 courses this year as a senior which includes about 4 business/computer classes if that somehow helps.
Lots of Leadership positions/Volunteer work/Clubs and sports/work experience. I would show them, but they're all saved on my other computer. Either way, I consider them to be very good.

Pretty good UA short answers
Pretty good UConn essay
Very good FSU Essays

Unweighted GPA- 3.1 There is a rising trend in my grades though. My freshman avg was 82, same goes for sophmore year. Then my juniour year average was a 92, and so far in senior year I have all A's besides for 2 B+'s. I also have an A+ in pre-calc so far.

SAT- 1070 (out of 1600), 1610 (out of 2400). Yeah, I know, pretty damn crappy scores.

I already got into Arizona State, so is Arizona's admission very very similar??

I'm hoping that my EC's and reccomendations can help me in, any predictions at my chances would be extremely helpfull. Perhaps the fact that I'm from R.I/CT can somehow help?

I also want to add that I applied to all three of these schools VERY early.
Arizona- Applied late september, they got my scores/transcripts in mid-october.
FSU- Applied mid October, they got my scores/transcripts in late October. (admissions decision DEC 15th)
UConn- Applied early september (early action), they got my scores/transcripts in late October.

Long live the crappy SAT...me included: 4.17GPA (3.82 un-weighted) w/ 1740SAT...damn bubble sheet. Thanks for posting on my thread, time to return the favor. (Curious...what's ur weighted GPA?)

U Arizona: Safe Match (I'm applying too - maybe I'll see you there next yr!)
FSU: Match (looks good!)
UConn: Slight Reach (hardest to get into of the 3...you have OK SAT and OK GPA for them...more of a yes than a no)

Good luck!

Thanks alot. Batman, my school does not provide a weighted GPA so it's hard for me to even estimate what it would be.

Also, I'm a first generation college student in my family. Neither of my parents went to college if that helps me in any way.

bumpp.................

bump............................

agree that uconn is a slight reach- wouldnt surprise me if you didnt get in, but wouldnt be too surprised if you did, if that makes any sense..

Yeah, I do consider UConn to be a slight reach, but I know so many in-state people (such as what I consider myself) that got in really easily, s o hopefully I can as well.

"I also applied to LSU, Arizona State (accepted), West Virginia University (accepted), Tulane (they sent me a thing in the email saying I don't have to pay the application fee and no essa, so I applied, but wrote the essay anyways. Still think it's a big reach though), University of Kansas, and University of Florida (also a big reach, just crossing my fingers. I just felt bad not applying to a reach, so I applied to UF and then got the Tulane offer)"

LSU: Match
ASU: Accepted
WVU: Accepted
Tulane: Reach
Kansas: Match
UF: Reach (I think you have a better shot here than Tulane)

Nice list. Either "match" or "reach"...based on where you're applying I'm assuming location doesn't limit you; look for some "slight reach" schools.

Here's some possibilities:

Rutgers: Slight Reach
Miami (OH): Slight Reach
Clemson: Slight Reach
U Iowa: Match/Slight Reach
U Oregon: Match

bumpppppppppppppppppppppp

I'm guessing that if I were to put Stanford, Yale, or Princeton in the title, I'd get alot more replies. If anything, these schools are easier to predict. For everyone viewing this thread, just remember that I've probably replied to one of your threads in the past few weeks...
