Ec's

Mission trip to Maine- Built a church from the ground up.
Mission trip to Dominican Republic- Build a church and started on a hospital.
Both of these were 2 week trips.
Mission trip to Mexico- Worked at an orphanage for 3 weeks.
Presidential Bronze award for community service 2 years in a row.

Varsity Soccer 3 years
JV Baseball 1 year
Worked at Dorothy Day every weekend for a good 2 months.

I think you have a great chance. Your GPA is kinda low, but 5 APs w/ 4s on the exams in Junior-Soph year is an impressive courseload. Your SATs are also great, way above the avg. for Syracuse.

As far as your ECs, it's cool you play a varsity sport and are involved in student gov. I never got too amped up about mission trips, though, but I don't know how adcoms see it. I'm always more impressed by community service in one's own backyard. But if you're really involved in church I think that's good and says something about your moral character.

i applied to VPA for Musical Theater. I have a 3.1...well 3.2 now.. take a look at my stats in the profile's section. i have a ****load of EC's and pretty good SAT's. U should get in.. i have faith..lol

I don't know exactly. I know the average for the j-school is like 1230/1600 or something, and that is the most selective school at Syracuse and is almost 100 pts over the avg. for arts and sciences admits. I think that the average score for arts and sci is probably like 11something.
