Chances at Berkeley/UCLA

I am a senior, my weighted gpa is 4.25, I will have finished high school with 16 aps by the end of this year.
W GPA: 4.25
UW GPA: (don't know)
SAT score: 2260
SAT IIs:
chem 770
us 730
math2 800
5s on all the aps except for a history one.
8bs throughout 10th-11th, rest are As
oh, other people seem to be listing their APs, so here are mine: world, euro, us, calc ab, bc, phys c mech + e&m, psych, chem, stat, bio, eng lang, eng lit, gov, econ, envirosci

President, founder of a few clubs and what not through the years, wont bore you with it.
was on california's 2nd best science olympiad team for 2 years, in a high placing speech and debate team with a few awards, varsity tennis for four years, volunteered at a hospital for 200 hours (I want to major in neurobiology), went to COSMOS at UC davis this past summer in an engineering program, math clubs, etc. In a highly gifted magnet program at north hollywood and I'm sure I'm missing some details

I am an east indian who lives in los angeles. I am not aiming for too extravagant an undergrad as I plan to go to medical school, with UCLA and Berkeley being my top two most realistic picks.

Anyhow, does it seem likely that I'll get into either? my counselor scared me about a weak profile but all the other kids from my program go to ivy leagues and what not, so I didn't know how much gravity to take that with. Much appreciated for your insight or prediction

Good shot.

Agreed with hmom. You’re SAT/SATII scores are very very good. Youre UW GPA doesnt seem too great considering you have 8 b’s on your transcript, but it should be counteracted with your test scores since it is a public school. Good luck!

I give you 85% chance with UCLA
90% chance with UCB

You seem to be more UCB type :)

Make sure you consider the pre-med track at both schools. I intend to do biology/pre - med track but I always keep in mind whether either school is a good fit and how their pre-medical levels up.

word, that’s relieving. thanks for the input guys

you went to cosmos this past summer at davis?! cuz i did too…

pm me which cluster
haha

Cal is a good shot. They tend to focus on SATs a bit more there and UCLA a bit more on GPA. UCLA is still a pretty good shot, though. I’d call them both a match.

I think you should have a fairly easy time making it into both. Under the formula, your SAT and SAT IIs make up for your GPA/rank. Your APs show that you were not weak in your classes (hopefully they show they were just hard, rather than that you weren’t trying).

would it be substantially more unlikely for me to get in if I applied to both of them with a bioengineering related major in mind?
