(I havent recieved my PSAT Scores yet, but after taking some practice SAT's in workshops and the like, i estimate it to be anywhere from 1300 to 1400.)

Is there any other information needed to guage my chances of acceptance? Anyway, tell me if i can get in, and if i can't, what i can do to rectify the situation.

I'd say for Berkley like match/reach with the information i see. I think it would be more of a match if you took the Writing, MAth and some other subject SAT II's and got 2100 combined, ur in for sure

As far as SAT II goes, im scared of the Math tests, as i have had a rather bad run of awful math teachers. My current math teacher has not checked homework since the 2nd day of school. He merely says "anyone have any homework?" and when the rest of the class says no, he shrugs and sits down at the computer. We havent learned a thing. So as it is, im concerned about the math tests. I plan to take:
-US History
-World History
-Math 1 (oy!)

Is math 1 acceptable, or would it be better to attempt Math II?

TIm the pirate...DONT WORRY.. if i were you, i would get couple of SAT II prep books by Barrons..theyve helped me so much and i can almost bet they can help you

Yea, you need better grades. Even if you score above 1500 on the SAT, Berkeley will reject u for having a weighted GPA of under 4.2.

I it would be a stretch for even UCLA and UCSD with your grades. Just study more and raise ur SAT scores as well. You seem like one of those naturally smart kids who are lazy. LOL all u have to do is just focus for a year and then u can be lazy again kiddo. haha.

I was under the impression that 4.2 was average, not minimum, as my friend got in with roughly a 3.7 and average SAT's. Anyway, yeah, i am kinda lazy sometimes. W/e, 3 of those B's this year are like 88's so i should have em up by end of semester.

I might have calculated this wrong...oh and i assumed that you will be getting the same grades for the next semester of your jr yr...you only have a 3.2uw and a 3.7w? Um i dont know if that will be enough for UCB or LA or even SD. but if your test scores and EC's are great you might have a chance. BUt i think your have a better shot at UCD,SB,and I for matches...GL

i think its a reach, but thats very similiar to my grades for this year ( jr year ). i think if our sat scores KICK well be in a better situation

You need a high GPA; it's a must for the UCs. There's an enormous emphasis placed on your gpa, unweighted and weighted. Test scores come second to this, as well as extracurriculars etc.
