I’m a high school senior with an unweighted gpa of 3.8 have taken 6 ap classes but my sat is 1650 act 24. I do plan on taking the Sat again with prep classes. What are my chances in getting into Berkeley for a biology major? What can I do to improve my chances?
Unless you can bump your SAT to around 2100 or ACT to 31, your chances are slim.
Here is the Freshman profile for UCB this year:
UC GPA: 4.19 ACT: 31 SAT: 2094
Other than getting spectacular scores on your tests, applications are due Nov 30 so not much can be done except study hard.
SAT and ACT scores are too low for Berkeley and most of the UCs.
Try taking the tests again but really try to study. Otherwise, you may want to look at non-impacted CSUs.
Why Berkeley? For biology, most UCs are very good.
Honestly I’m not sure but I would like to go there and what is the lowest that Berkeley would accept SAT wise?
UCB has no SAT score cutoff, just saying if the average admit has a 2094, you have over 400 points to increase to just be at the average.
OK thanks because I’ve seen the average at 1800 on one site.
No chance with those scores, especially in a biology major, Id look at Cal states. Most of their schools would better fit your scores.
