Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): No “common” hooks, but I come from an abusive home (well-documented in my application and recommendations) and suffer PTSD as a result of being raped my sophomore year of HS. Not sure if these count as hooks, but they’re a large part of my academic + personal journey and my school’s college counselor encouraged me to include them in my applications.
